Especially in public buildings the ability to orient oneself plays an important role. Open lines of sight as well as views into and through rooms guide visitors intuitively. In our design visitors are led to the spacious foyer by sight lines when entering the building. A consumption-free, “empty” area gives space to arrive, rest and orient oneself.

In order to remove the load-bearing walls for the redesign of the reception area and to ensure a largely uninterrupted appearance of the ceiling when viewed from below, the ceilings will be equipped with new supports: two steel beams with a fish-bellied truss running north to south and steel beams running east to west.

Along the museum alcoves on the ground floor visitors are led to the exhibition spaces upstairs by colorful markings and light projections.
