Following the competition guidelines, urban gardening as well as horizontal and vertical vegetation are the main focus of the project. Their purpose is to create an “orto familiare”, a homely vegetable garden which serves as a center for the inhabitants of the house, a space to meet one another, to have a chat and to pursue common interests.
Leisure and community facilities such as washhouses, baths, libraries, sports and assembly halls inside the complex are the basis for a functioning coexistence and contribute to a good quality of life at the site.
